PDFix Make Accessible

PDFix Make Accessible automates PDF accessibility remediation directly inside Enfocus Switch workflows.

The app receives incoming PDF jobs, runs the bundled PDFix command-line runtime, and outputs a remediated PDF designed to improve accessibility and PDF/UA readiness.

Key capabilities

• Automatically process PDF jobs in Switch flows.
• Create an accessible PDF output on the Success data connection.
• Improve document tagging, structure, metadata, document language, title, bookmarks, and related accessibility properties.
• Use optional PDFix layout templates for more controlled tagging.
• Run optional PDFix batch command files for advanced workflows.
• Handle encrypted input PDFs with a configured password.
• Generate JSON execution reports for traceability and troubleshooting.
• Route failed jobs to the Error data connection with a JSON error report.

The app can use app-level PDFix license credentials or a server-wide PDFix license configured on the Switch server.

Automated remediation can significantly reduce manual accessibility work, but final accessibility conformance should still be reviewed with appropriate validation tools and human judgment.
