The Enfocus Griffin app integrates with Griffin Auto and Griffin+ Auto, the automated versions of the interactive Griffin and Griffin+ applications. Contact Enfocus or our partner network to obtain a license for one of the Griffin flavors. The difference between Griffin and Griffin+ is that Griffin allows 100 products in one nesting run, Griffin+ allows 500. The maximum width and height of a layout in Griffin is 10m x 10m, in Griffin+ it is 10m x 50m. The report types that can be created by Griffin are JSON and XML, Griffin+ can additionally create PDF reports, also for tiling.
Griffin is a powerful, award winning automatic layout and tiling solution for wide format printers. Its primary goals are to increase efficiency and reduce errors by automating repetitive tasks and bring down material waste with sophisticated nesting algorithms. A key advantage of Griffin is its vendor neutrality. It is designed to work seamlessly with virtually all printing machines and cutting tables.
Highlights include:
The Enfocus Griffin app provides the entire feature set of Griffin(+) within Switch flows. The app is designed to be highly dynamic, with virtually all the 300+ properties controllable via variables and script expressions. This dynamism allows you to tackle a wide range of tasks while simplifying your flows and reducing processing time. Under the hood, the Switch app connects to Griffin(+) Auto which performs all tasks and returns results back to the app for further processing within Switch.
The app also has specific features that are not part of the interactive application.
Nesting triggers
The app has a property to determine when a nesting run should be started. The different strategies are:
Minimum layout usage
The app allows to define a percentage value for minimum layout usage. When one or more calculated layouts are not filled above the defined percentage, those layouts are not output and the products on them are held back for the next nesting run, when more jobs have arrived and a new more optimized nesting result can be achieved.
Job info
The app can define job info fields that can be displayed on a dashboard in Switch Portal. In this way users can track the nesting status of jobs.
