About Phoenix Dies

Phoenix Dies connects Enfocus Switch directly to your Enfocus Phoenix die design and template libraries. Import CAD files and imposition templates, and keep both libraries clean - automatically, from inside a flow.

Eliminate manual die-library maintenance and enable reliable end-to-end integration across your packaging workflow, while saving up to 100 hours of configuration and development time. Phoenix Dies is especially useful for converters onboarding new dies continuously, keeping your CAD output and Phoenix in sync.

What it does

Whether you're onboarding a die straight out of ArtiosCAD, re-importing a template after a revision, or clearing out a retired job's leftovers, Phoenix Dies lets you do it without clicking through the Phoenix interface. One configurator, both libraries.

Four actions, two targets

• Find die designs or templates that match your criteria
• Check for an entry and route the job based on whether it exists
• Create - import a die design from a CAD file (ARD, CFF2, DDES2/3, DXF, MFG, PDF), or import a template and let Phoenix generate the die designs it contains
• Delete entries that are no longer needed

Flexible, operator-based search

Look up entries by Name, ID, External ID, Description, or Path using familiar operators like Equals, Contains, and Starts With. Match one entry or sweep a whole folder in a single job.

Built for production flows

• Every job produces a clean JSON result file you can branch on downstream. The outcome is five fixed buckets - created, edited, deleted, skipped, failed - so a single downstream script reads any Phoenix app the same way
• Every entry an override pass removed is reported by id and name, not just counted - so you know exactly what an import replaced
• Every Phoenix call the job made is reported with the exact body sent and the reply received, including the resolved die designs folder
• Errors come back as structured JSON too — same shape, same keys — no parsing log messages
• Three-way routing: Success, Warning, and Error. The Warning route fires whenever the app's behavior diverged from your literal request - either override pass actually destroyed data. Each divergence is listed in the result JSON so flows can react precisely.
• Automatic retry when Phoenix is busy, so transient load doesn't stall the flow
• Safe to run alongside other Phoenix-aware Switch apps - Phoenix Dies coordinates API calls across them to prevent conflicts
